Wednesday....3 Plums

Starting off our day with bugs and attribute cards...we pretended those dragon flies were butterflies

It took Amelia no time at all to remember how to do this activity and once we started there was no stopping her!
I couldn't believe how quickly she could do these!

2 for 2...and we almost have a third!

I even thought she did a good job lining up the buggies!

And again...done is less time than I could have imagined!

Since Mia blew through those so fast we sorted the bugs by 'wings' and 'no wings'

Here are the books we are enjoying!

Time for art...brought to you by the letter 'B'

Turning the letter B in to a butterfly!

Amelia's 1st experience with watercolors! We got colorful =)

There is a reason toddlers fingerpaint....because they don't understand the sequence/order/steps of watercolors. Dip in the water, dip in the paint, paint the paper....Mia wanted to dip her paintbrush in to the water after each action!

I think Amelia's water got more color than her picture...but it is still pretty (even if it;s a little wet =)

Break for lunch....Amelia ate a quesadilla butterfly for lunch!

***More pictures to come..but the night is getting late and I need to prepare for tomorrow's Tot School with Ali! Here are some videos to whet your appetite...

Tuesday...2 Pears

Amelia started Tuesday morning off bright and early with her Sensory Bin! On the way to change Mia she caught sight of her fun bin and took a detour =)

I took this opportunity to show Mia one of the big differences between caterpillars and butterflies (the WINGS of course =) So we sorted these objects in to 2 groups; wings & no wings!

Amelia decided that stacking would be fun, too!
Keep on sorting little girl....you're almost done!

Once we were finally dressed and had breakfast, we incorporated two tasks in to one! We combined writing Ahmy (Grammy-but Mia says 'Ahmy') a thank you note for all the fun things we got in the mail from her yesterday and working on our fine motor skills.....Amelia got to use butterfly stickers!

Such concentration as to where the perfect spot for each sticker.

I just love her little hands =)

OH!!! You did such a great job Mia-bug! Ahmy will love this =)

So I noticed once Amelia was finished that she covered up all the letter 'y's....not sure why she did this...we haven't talked about this letter much but evidently she noticed it and decided to sticker them! I wish I could ask her her reasoning! So much wonder going on inside that little mind =)

Attack of the Peanut Butter Banana and Chocolate Chip Caterpillar! YUM YUM!

Dolce and Gabby are patiently waiting for a morsel to hit the floor!

SO GOOD!

Sorry these pictures won't let me rotate them...but basically this game is to place the matching pom pom on the caterpillar!

Amelia enjoyed this game for like 2 minutes....

She did such a good job on the 1st caterpillar but once I asked her to do the next one....

Pom Poms went flying and that was the end of this game =) That's okay...I don't expect Mia to love everything we try!

But she did do a couple more dots and then cleaned up...luckily her fits don't last long...just long enough to get her point across!

The last thing we did today was to act out The Very Hungry Caterpillar with Amelia's play food!

We 1st read the story and Amelia pretended to 'munch and crunch' on each item with the caterpillar! Her sound effects were beyond cute! The following pictures are us playing after the story!
Munching on the cupcake and lettuce!

And finishing the night off with the Pear! Which is fitting for today....The Very Hungry Caterpillar ate 2 pears on Tuesday! Goodnight =)

This Caterpillar is STILL Hungry =) Monday...1 Apple

We call today Mind-Blowing Monday because we did sooo much!
*I just HAD to post these! This is what happens when a toddler dresses herself =) I LOVE IT! Did Elton John loose his glasses!?

Now on to our Tot School for the day:
C is for Caterpillar. Amelia made a cute little caterpillar (that reminded me of Lifesavers) out of the letter 'C'.

What letter is that!? 'Ceeeeeeee' Too cute =)
And the final product. I let Mia pick out which color of 'c' she wanted to use but I did the gluing for her (I think she would go a little crazy with it!)

Each day we start out with our Daily Planner. This week I am really highlighting the Days of the Week. In the Very Hungry Caterpillar the days of the week are labeled so I thought this would be a good time to teach that =)

It's rainy out today so Mia chose the umbrella-boy does she love this thing! I have to put it away once we are done or she would spend the whole day doing it!

Here Amelia is looking through a book I just finished reading to her. It's Eric Carle's It's Monday. I chose this book to read because it focuses on the days of the week. So we will read this story each morning (this week) with our Daily Planner.
This is Amelia's 1st Sensory Bin! My goal is to change it out for each theme =) This week it is full of caterpillars and butterflies (and things related to that =)

Sensory Bin contents: caterpillar & butterfly stamps, glow in the dark butterflies, caterpillar and butterfly foam stickers, a bug container, counting caterpillars, butterfly cookie cutter, butterfly erasers and butterfly play-doh stamps.

Amelia created her own fine motor skill activity by balancing each object! Good Job, Mia-bug!

Just another cute picture...she is pretty pleased with herself (she put on her headband all by herself!)

A Buggy Tea Party! We had a tea party this afternoon where we also sorted the dishes...
 Made sure they looked presentable....
And we stacked the dishes, too =)

For lunch Amelia ate the letter 'C' and a caterpillar (tastes like PB&J =)
 Goodbye 'C'!        'C' you later =)

Before Kindermusik tonight Amelia played in her new bin which is full of beans....she loves to pour!

 Making a shaker!

Before bed (while enjoying a snack) Amelia got out her pom poms...another favorite of hers right now =) She did an awesome job sorting them! If she wasn't sure where the pom pom went she would hold it next to some (already in a bowl) if it matched she dropped it in with the others and if it didn't she would move on to the next one. WOW!
It's raining pom poms before bed! Good Night my little Mia-bug...you must be tired...what a busy day we had =)
