D is for Dinosaur: Meet the Dinosaurs! Day 2

D is for Dinosaur-Part 2

We didn't get to do as many activities today because we spent a huge portion of the day running around town doing errands and then visiting my grandma (who recently broke her pelvis =( Amelia wanted to take her flowers and tell her to feel better...which is sooo much more important than Tot School!

This little egg is sooo cool....it actually cracks and a dino hatches out of it!

How many Mia feet fits inside a T-Rex footprint!?

Making Dino Prints in Play-doh. Amelia loved when I made a bunch of tracks and she had to figured out which dinosaur belong to which set of prints!

3-Part Reading Cards:

Dinosaur Alphabet: I found this awesome set of upper-case and lower-case dinosaur alphabet cards that corresponds to a different dinosaur for all 26 letters. I also recorded the perfect episode of the T.V. show Dinosaur Train. The episode was about Buddy the T-Rex gathering a dinosaur to represent each letter of the alphabet....PERFECT for today's activity!!!! We also read this book....another great way to lead in to this alphabet activity!

I would call out the name of the dinosaur and Amelia would have to identify the beginning letter (by either sound or sight) and then find both the upper-case and lower-case letter.

Color the Dinosaur: Color Word Identification

Graph the Dinosaurs' Height: This activity was awesome! We had to locate each dinosaur's height (either from our info cards on the walls or by looking it up in one of our many dino books). Once we found the height we would graph it and then at the end we discussed which was the tallest and which was the smallest dinosaur.

Amelia-o-saurs & Evan-o-saurs: I just love the information that Amelia came up with!
